Lock 32 Brewing Company was established in 2013 by John Clark, Seth Clark, and Casey Dunlavey; three friends born and raised in Upstate NY looking to combine their love for the region with their passion for good craft beer. All three gentlemen currently reside in Rochester and with their families have greatly enjoyed immersing themselves in the rich history and culture of the area. Upon learning that the craft beer industry has deep roots in the Flower City, they felt it only fitting that Rochester lead the way in the east coast craft beer “boom."
After years of dreaming about opening a brewery in the Rochester area, Seth, John and Casey took a leap of faith. While contemplating location for this venture it became clear that Rochester had much to offer. They felt strongly that the Erie Canal be included for its beauty and the charm of various villages along the way. When they learned that there was a vacancy in the Village of Pittsford they knew they found the perfect place.
After many days (and late nights) of working toward their goal, Lock 32 Brewing Company was given the green light on December 13, 2013. Then the work began as they renovated their space turning it from a store into a tasting room. With the support of family, friends, and the community of Rochester the dream is now a reality.
So stop in, introduce yourself, take in the beauty of the canal, and enjoy a pint or two of great-tasting, locally produced Lock 32 beer. In keeping with the sentiment of community connectedness this area embodies Lock 32 is partnering with other New York breweries and a cider mill to offer a true taste of all that Upstate New York has to offer.
